Cathedral Square Launch
the Placemaking enterprise was strategically designed
The £20million regeneration project of Cathedral Square has given the southern part of Worcester city centre a whole new lease of life. Integrating shops, dining and leisure experiences, the Placemaking enterprise was strategically designed to aid the city’s prosperity and be enjoyed by local residents and visitors alike.
The all-day event needed to illuminate Cathedral Square as a positive addition to Worcester. The Xcite team needed to facilitate a broad range of activities showcasing the centre’s key attractions in a crowd-appealing way.
A strategic plan was required using audience insight to guide the range of activities and maintain an upbeat feel across the day.
Xcite’s renowned expertise in curating diverse experiences enabled the team to hand-pick an exhilarating variety of talent for the opening.
Representing the retailers, dining and leisure experiences on offer at Cathedral Square, Xcite’s production team managed a jam-packed schedule of activities and delights suited to all audiences.
Xcite ran children’s workshops and designed and installed pop-up units for cookery and cocktail demonstrations.
Xcite’s audio-visual and digital media services installed a pop-up cinema showing Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone for a truly magical end to the day.
