The Whiteley Shopping Centre in Fareham’s £84m redevelopment saw the space activated as an open, natural environment comprising 64 high-street stores and further eateries. Wanting to illuminate the inclusive, family-friendly ethos of the centre, boost awareness and elevate hype, Xcite’s leading retail expertise was called upon for the launch event.
The Brief
Redevelopment is a perfect opportunity for centres to engage new audiences and create affinity ties. However, customers have higher expectations than ever in this competitive market. Gaining customer loyalty for new sites is a difficult challenge. It requires seamless execution and the accommodation of a diverse array of public interests.
For the launch of Whiteley, Xcite had the task of creating a full bank holiday weekend programme of events showcasing the centre's offering across food, fashion, family and home.
Our Solution
Xcite’s expertise producing exhilarating children’s events saw top talent entertain families all weekend long. Live appearances from TV favourites including RaaRaa the Noisy Lion and Fireman Sam brought beaming smiles to little ones and parents alike.
The fun continued with Xcite’s seamless instalment and management of bright, inviting craft workshops. What’s more, kids could take home their special creations ensuring no-one left empty-handed. Behind the scenes, the Xcite logistics team took care of the full set-up and take-down of the pop-up workshop spaces, ensuring the public could sit and enjoy in style. With children leaving with their craft souvenirs, memories were made and enduring relationships with the centre were formed.
